Eligibility

To participate, any applicant must be a natural or a legal person of an EU Member State or European Economic Area (EEA), European Neighbouring Countries (ENP), South/East countries or other countries with which the EU has space dialogues and cooperation: USA, Canada, Latin America, Africa, Gulf Cooperation Countries, Kazahstan, Japan, Korea, Australia, New Zealand.

The 2021 Organiser

RST-TTO – Description
The Risk Space Transfer – Technology Transfer Office (RST-TTO) was created in 2012 as a joint venture of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences: the Space Research and Technology Institute and the Centre for National Security and Defence Research. The mission of RST-TTO is to increase awareness of EO technologies and to support transfer of value-added services, products and data to sectors such as emergency management, security, environmental protection, agriculture, urban and regional planning, transport, and climate change. RST-TTO, aims to strengthen cooperation between the science and business communities, to develop new market opportunities and to support active participation of Bulgarian organisations and business in space activities, EU space initiatives and flagship programmes.

The 2021 Partners

The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Bulgaria – Description
The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Bulgaria coordinates the policies in the field of space policy at a national and international level arising from the country’s membership of the European Union by leading Working Group No. 35 “Space Policy” at the Council of European Affairs, Council of Ministers, and coordinating the activities with the European Space Agency and the European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA). The Ministry of Economy is currently working actively on developing the possibilities of the Bulgarian space sector and involving New Space stakeholders as potential participants in the EU Space Programmes. One of the main goals of the Ministry of Economy is to organise information sessions and meetings in order to spread information on the benefits offered by using space data.

EURISY
Eurisy is a non-profit association of European space agencies, governmental offices and international organisations in charge of space affairs. Eurisy favours dialogue and supports collaboration between public institutions, SMEs, industry, and academia across the space value chain while also aiming to advance the dissemination of space-derived innovation across society by leveraging its wide network of end users. The objective is to raise awareness of satellite applications and to provide bottom-up feedback to decision-makers on the challenges faced in the uptake of space-enabled products and services.

Agricultural University – Plovdiv (AU)
The Agricultural University – Plovdiv (AU) was established in 1945. It acts as a national centre of agricultural science and education in Bulgaria. The University is a modern national and European educational, research and development centre, which is integrated into the European Education Area with a significant contribution to sustainable and smart agriculture, tourism and regional development. The University is a place for competitive fundamental and applied research that is oriented towards business and enhances agricultural practices to allow the sector to develop sustainably.

Faculty of German Engineering Education and Industrial Management (FDIBA)
The Faculty of German Engineering Education and Industrial Management (FDIBA), Technical University of Sofia, trains students in bachelor’s and master’s programmes, as well as doctoral students in a variety of programmes. Teaching is provided in German by Bulgarian and German lecturers following the curricula of the partner universities (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, TU Braunschweig, FOM University of Applied Sciences, Essen, and Otto von Guericke University of Magdeburg). The students receive a German diploma in all of the specialisms studied at the faculty. FDIBA is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service.
